BLOCK7 Limited owner and operator of BLOCK7.co.uk website (“Site”), is committed to protecting Your privacy. Where We refer to Processing Your personal data (where “Personal Data”) has the meanings as defined in the UK data protection legislation according to the Data Protection Act 2018, and the updated UK GDPR),this includes handling, collecting, protecting, and storing it.
Our users (“You”) include individuals who visit (“Visitors”) the Site, individuals who sign up (“Customers”) to use the Site and the related applications, products, and services (“Subscription Services and/or Offerings”), and individuals who register to attend (“Attendees”) online demos, seminars, or corporate events. This Privacy Policy applies to You and describes Our privacy practices in relation to the use of the Site and the Subscription Services and/or Offerings offered on Our Site, BLOCK7.co.uk. By visiting the Site or using the Subscription Services and/or Offerings provided on the Site, You are consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

In this Privacy Policy references to (“We,” “Us,” “Our” or “BLOCK7”) are references to BLOCK7 Limited in connection with Your use of BLOCK7’s Site, mobile applications, and social media pages that link to this Privacy Policy, Your interactions with BLOCK7 during in-person at BLOCK7 facilities and off-site meeting rooms or at BLOCK7 events, and in the context of other online or offline sales and marketing activities. This Privacy Policy also explains the privacy rights You have in relation to these Processing activities.
As used in this Privacy Policy, (“Personal Information” or “Personal Data”) means information that relates to an identified individual or to an identifiable individual. Personal Information is also referred to as (“Information About You”)

We collect and Process information about You and/or Your business to enable Us, and other members of the BLOCK7 network such as Our partner network or Our technology network to:
provide Our Subscription Services and/or Offerings to You or Our Customers; and to enable Us to provide You with information that We think may be of interest to You; and to meet Our legal or regulatory obligations; or  strive to improve Our Subscription Services and/or Offerings and this extends to the data security We offer Our growing Customer and user base.

Updates

This General Privacy Policy was last updated on the Last Revised date at the top of this policy. However, this policy can change over time, for example to comply with legal requirements or to meet changing business needs. The most up-to-date version can be found on Our Site. In case there is an important change that We want to highlight to You, We will also inform You in another appropriate way (for example via a pop-up notice or statement of changes on Our Site).

When We update this policy, We will amend the revision date at the top of this page. The modified or amended privacy statement will apply from that date. We encourage You to review this policy periodically to remain informed about how We are protecting Your information.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Processing of Personal Information by BLOCK7 of:

  • Attendees of BLOCK7 events, such as BLOCK7 demos, training, or BLOCK7-sponsored events; and
  • Customers and prospective customers and their representatives; and subscribers to BLOCK7’s resource services also known as (“BLOCK7 Community Hub”); and
  • blogs, publications, and newsletters; and
  • visitors to BLOCK7’s facilities; or suppliers and business partners and their representatives.

The Privacy Policy does not apply to the following activities:

  • Personal information collected about You by BLOCK7 Customers: BLOCK7 Customers are responsible for their own Personal Information collection and Processing practices, including when Customers use BLOCK7 Subscription Services and/or Offerings to Process Your Personal Information. Please consult that company directly if You have any further questions about its use of information about You.
  • Personal information processed by BLOCK7 to provide cloud, technical support, or other services to BLOCK7 Customers: (“Services Personal Information”) is Personal Information processed by BLOCK7 on behalf of a Customer to provide and perform contracted Subscription Services and/or Offerings. If You are a BLOCK7 Customer and We are Processing Personal Information on behalf of Your company, please refer to the terms and conditions attached to the Subscription Services and/or Offerings for information on how BLOCK7 processes Services Personal Information, available at https://www.block7.co.uk/privacy/services-privacy-policy.
  • Personal Information You provide on third party sites not controlled by BLOCK7: When interacting with Our Site, You also may link or connect with non-BLOCK7 websites, services, social networks, applications, or other features that are not governed by this Privacy Policy. Enabling these features will lead to other parties than BLOCK7 Processing information about You. BLOCK7 does not have any control over these features of other parties. We encourage Visitors to review the privacy statements on each of those other websites, services, social networks, and applications before disclosing any Personal Data and We encourage You to review the privacy policies of these parties before using their features.

Purpose of Collecting and Processing Your Personal Data

We value and respect any Personal Information and the purpose of this General Privacy Policy is to explain how We collect and or Process Personal Information.

Support

We may Process Personal Information to analyse, develop, improve, and optimise the use, function and performance of Our Sites and Subscription Services and/or Offerings, including:

  • for quality assurance and training purposes; and
  • to respond to Your requests; and
  • to deliver functionality on Our Sites; and
  • to administer Our subscriptions, publications, and newsletters (including the renewal Process); and

Services Personal Information is processed by BLOCK7 on behalf of a Customer to provide and perform contracted Subscription Services and/or Offerings and to create a BLOCK7 account and deliver functionality for their technical and functional management. In certain instances, Our Sites permit You to participate in interactive discussions, create a profile, post comments, opportunities, or other content, or communicate directly with another user or otherwise engage in networking activities on Our Sites, BLOCK7 may Process Personal Information when moderating these activities.

We may Process Your Personal Information to communicate and respond to Your requests and inquiries to BLOCK7 if You get in touch with Us (such as by submitting contact forms on Our Sites, reaching out to Us via BLOCK7’s sales chat, attending BLOCK7 events or other occasions, sending an email or by visiting social media platforms) and We Process information about You to communicate with You and to respond to Your requests or other inquiries. We can also Process Personal Information to interact with You on third party social networks.

We may Process Personal Information to secure Our Sites, control access to Our Subscription Services and/or Offerings and to comply with applicable laws such as to comply with an opt-out request.

Business and Commercial Use

We use Your Personal Data to create and administer a single sign-on (SSO) authorised user account (also may be referred to as an ‘Named User Account’) and to deliver functionality on Our Sites to provide access to Your registered Services enabling their technical and functional operational management.

If You place an order for Our Subscription Services and/or Offerings, or if You provide services to BLOCK7, Our employees, Customers or partners as a supplier or business partner, BLOCK7 processes information about You to engage in and enable the administration of the relevant transactions (such as by making payments or sending invoices as an when required), administer Your order and activate Your subscription credits, and help You get started and adopt Our Subscription Services and/or Offerings.

If You download Subscription Services and/or Offerings both paid or free usage from Our Sites, BLOCK7 uses information about You to confirm certain information about Your order, for example, that Your download was successful and that You did not experience problems in the download Process.

When You choose to register with Us, (such as to make use of Our BLOCK7 Community Hub), We need to Process the Personal Information provided by You so that We can create a BLOCK7 registration account for You. Please note, this only applies to Personal Information controlled by Us, not any Personal Information We Process on behalf of Our Customers.

BLOCK7 may Process Personal Information for marketing and sales activities (including events) based on Your consent where so indicated on Our Sites at the time Your Personal Information was collected, or further to Our legitimate interest to keep You updated to notify You about new product releases and service developments, events, alerts, updates, prices, terms, special offers and associated campaigns and promotions (including via newsletters). We may also use Personal Information to advertise Our Subscription Services and/or Offerings and to have Our distributors, resellers or partners notify You about Our Subscription Services and/or Offerings or their related Offerings (such as via joint sales or product promotions). We do Our best to tailor Your Site visit, marketing experience and Our communications to Your expressed interests. This happens, for example, if You sign up for Our B7 Community Hub or program such as Our partner network or Our technology network.

We also may use Your Personal Information that is publicly available via third parties to provide select tailored relevant business-to-business Subscription Services and/or Offerings to You that may be of interest to You as well as for marketing and sales campaigns and activities.
After first obtaining Your consent, We may also Process Your Personal Information to post Your name and testimonials on Our Sites.

Personal Preferences

You have privacy rights for the information We Process about You. You can choose to opt-out of third-party sharing, object to, or restrict Our use of Your Personal Information, delete, change, or correct Your Personal Information via Your authorised login identity to Your contracted subscription service or access Your Personal Information by filling out Our enquiry form. Legitimate interest

To engage in transactions with Our Customers, suppliers, and business partners, and to Process purchases and downloads of Our Offerings, We need to Process information about You as necessary to enter or perform a contract with You.

In certain instances, We rely on Our legitimate interest in Processing contact and related information about You to comply with applicable laws and regulations. For example, to respond to a request from a regulator or to defend a legal claim or to communicate adequately with You and to respond to Your enquiry requests on Our Sites or through Our support services. We may also Process Personal Information in the performance and operation of Our business, such as to conduct internal audits and investigations or for finance and accounting and archiving and insurance purposes and to comply with applicable laws and regulations or any contracted other legal processes that have been agreed by You in mutually agreed contracts that are currently operative, or to Process a consent request.

By contacting Us, such as by submitting an enquiry form, demo request, contact form, subscription trial or sign-up subscription form or reaching out to Us via BLOCK7’s sales chat, attending a BLOCK7 event or other occasions, sending an email or by visiting social media platforms, We Process information about You for the purpose of legitimate interest to communicate with You and to respond to Your requests or other enquiries. We can also Process Personal Information

  • to interact with You on third party social networks; and
  • to provide Our Subscription Services and/or Offerings to You or Our Customers and other third parties and ensure that Our engagements are well-managed; and
  • to protect Our business interests; and
  • to ensure that complaints are investigated; and
  • to evaluate, develop or improve Our Offerings; or
  • to keep You or Our Customers informed about relevant Offerings and provide You with information unless You have indicated at any time that You do not wish Us to do so.

If You attend an event such as a training or certification event, BLOCK7 may Process information about You gathered in relation to the event and can share information about Your attendance with Your company should You require such.

We rely on Our legitimate interest to analyse Your data to develop, improve, and optimise Our Sites, Offerings, and to maintain the security of Our Sites, networks, and systems and We may also use Your Personal Data to conduct due diligence checks relating to the Subscription Services and/or Offerings.

To the extent that We Process any special categories of data relating to You for any of the purposes outlined above, We will do so because:

  • You have given Us Your explicit consent to Process that data;
  • We are required by law to Process that data to ensure We meet Our ‘know Your Customer’ and ‘anti-money laundering’ obligations (or other legal obligations imposed on Us);

BLOCK7 processes information about You that directly identifies You, such as name, email, and address, and information about You that may only indirectly identify You such as device identifiers or online activity when not associated with Your name.

If You choose not to provide, or object to Us Processing, the information We collect, We may not be able to Process Your instructions or continue to provide certain Subscription Services and/or Offerings to You or Our Customers.

Certain online information about You or device information may originate from the use of cookies and similar technologies (for example, pixel tags and device identifiers) on Our Sites or sites of third parties. We may Process Your data because:

  • You give it to Us (for example, in a form on Our Site including when You sign up to a BLOCK7 demo, trial or Customer account to access Our Subscription Services and/or Offerings or attend a BLOCK7 sponsored event); or
  • other people give it to Us (for example, third- party service providers that We use to help operate Our business sources, such as data aggregators who may not have a relationship with You or third parties who collect information about You on behalf of BLOCK7 such as when You download a whitepaper and shared resources); or
  • it is publicly available.
    We require this information for the following reasons:

  • We may use the information to improve Our Offerings; and

  • IP address and information that may be derived from IP address, such as geographic location, Your browser type, device type, operating system, the presence, or use of apps, screen resolution, together with Your access times; and
  • certain location or geolocation information You provide directly or through automated means, if You choose to enable location-based Subscription Services and/or Offerings from Your device or BLOCK7 app; and
  • behavioural data of the internet connected computer or device You use when interacting with Our Sites, such as advertisements clicked or viewed, social networks and content areas, date and time of activities or the web search used to locate and navigate to a Site; and
  • call recording and chat transcript data from sales and Customer support calls and live chat sessions or interviews; and
  • other information relevant to Customer surveys and/or offers You have subscribed to; and
  • information in any complaints You make; and
  • photographic or video footage and other information We may collect when You attend Our premises; and
  • details of how You like to interact with Us, and other similar information relevant to Our relationship with You.

When Our Customer or another third party gives Us Personal Data about You, We make sure they have complied with the relevant privacy laws and regulations. This may include, for example, that the Customer or other third party has informed You of the Processing and has obtained any necessary permission for Us to Process that information as described in this Privacy Policy.

We may also collect Personal Information if You register for BLOCK7 Sites and Subscription Services and/or Offerings using a third-party social network account (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter). For example, the Site may allow You to login using Your social network account credentials. We may collect the username associated with that social media account and any information or content You have permitted the social media network to share with Us, such as Your profile picture, email address, and birthday. The information We collect may depend on the privacy settings You have with the social network site, so please review the privacy statement or policy of the applicable social network site. When You access Our Site through Your social network account, You are authorising Us to collect and use Your information in accordance with this privacy statement.

Security of Your Personal Data

We are committed to ensuring that Your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure We have put in place suitable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures designed to safeguard, protect, and secure Personal Information We collect against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, damage, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, or access, as well as all other forms of unlawful Processing.

Shared Data

Your Personal Information is shared for business and commercial purposes throughout BLOCK7’s organisation and with relevant third-party service providers that legally and reasonably require access to Personal Data relating to You (for example, order fulfilment, analytics, event/campaign management, Site management, information technology and related infrastructure provision, Customer service, e-mail delivery, auditing, and other similar service providers) in order for those service providers to perform business functions on behalf of BLOCK7;
Additionally, Your Personal Information may be shared with Our partner network including distributors, resellers, integrators, or Our technology network including event co-hosts and sponsors, service providers and integration partners, according to Your authorised approval.
BLOCK7 employees are authorised to access Personal Information only to the extent necessary to serve the applicable purpose(s) and to perform their job functions.
In delivering Our Offerings, We Process and manage the data We hold, and the data captured maybe shared with other authorised users, Your employer and/or its advisers, or Your advisers for example in managements reports and other reporting services usually under the terms of an agreed contract.;
We may share Personal Data where necessary with credit reference agencies or other organisations that help Us make credit decisions and reduce the incidence of fraud; and

Our Sites may host various blogs, forums, wikis and other social media applications or services that allow You to share content with other users (collectively “Social Networks”). Any Personal Data that You contribute to these Social Networks can be read, collected, and used by other users of the application. We have little or no control over these other users, so any information You contribute to these Social Networks might not be managed in line with this General Privacy Policy and thus We have no liability for You using such.

Please note that BLOCK7 does not control the content that You may post to BLOCK7 communities forums or Social Networks; in certain cases, such content may be publicly available on the internet. You should carefully consider whether You wish to submit Personal Information to these forums or Social Networks and whether You wish to make Your profile available to other users, and You should tailor any content You may submit accordingly.

How Long We Keep Your Personal Data

We seek to ensure that We only keep Your Personal Data for the longest of:

  • the period necessary for the relevant activity or Subscription Services and/or Offerings; and
  • the legal retention period that is specified in any contract agreements between BLOCK7 and You; and
  • any retention period that is required by law; or
  • the period in which litigation or investigations might arise in respect of such services.

Your Rights

Your rights under data protection laws include the right to:

  • obtain confirmation that We are Processing Your Personal Data;
  • request copies of Your data;
  • request correction of Your data;
  • request erasure of Your data;

Sensitive Personal Information

We ask that You do not send Us, and do not share any Sensitive Personal Information (for example, government-issued IDs, information related to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or other beliefs, health, genetic, or biometric data, criminal background, or trade union membership). Sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) is data that can be traced back to an individual and that, if disclosed, could result in harm to that person.
